September

Just got home from SLC. Had a great time seeing friends and family. (I'll post some pics later)Ran a crazy 'Road Mile' that wasn't really on the road and got hailed/poured on and experienced my first numb hands of the season.

My big news this week is that Todd and I are moving out of the house and into an apartment, and next Caroline and Joanne arrive. I talked to Caroline last night on the phone and she said she's looking forward to "snuggling", and I have to admit, so am I.

Also, I added my roommates Best Man 'speech' to my list of youtube links...its funny even if you don't know him.

August

I can't believe its already August. Time is flying by...the Olympics open in five days! Since I last posted I have been to Salt Lake for a 10k, and Charlevoix, MI for a Mile. The 10k shredded my feet with blisters but went well considering it was 10,000 meters of running. I had plans be in Halifax today for another Mile race but when I arrived at the airport yesterday they had cancelled the flights and weren't able to get me there in time for the race today. That is the first time in my life where a trip just didn't even happen at all.

Other big news is that Joanne and Caroline are moving back to Michigan. It will make for some changes and adjustments but all very worth it. Also, I am almost for sure now, the assistant XC coach at Okemos High School. I am really excited to put some of my coaching ideas into use, and I think the kids will have a good time with it.

If anybody does Facebook and I haven't found you yet let me know and we can 'be friends'.

Here are some pics from just last week when I stopped in NJ to see Caroline.

I put a bunch in my Picassa album and the link is in the upper-right corner of the blog.

Eugene

I squeeked into the trials and I am off to Eugene tomorrow morning. I have had zero time to upload photos but when I do it will be big-time! For the trials, the USATF webpage pretty much has everything on it that you need for information:

For viewing the races, here are some other online suggestions:

http://speedendurance.com/category/track-and-field/ (which also has the full video from the Harry Jerome meet in Vancouver last Saturday)

Also this is a good spot for results and other track nerdliness:

Keep me in your thoughts. Here goes nothing...

Back to B.C.

This is going to be a short note. I just wanted to put up the link to the meets next week. I am competing in the last 3 (Abbotsford, Victoria, and Vancouver), and I am running the 800, 1500, and 1500 respectively. They should be good fields and the weather is usually ideal so it will be a good opportunity to gain some momentum heading into trials.

This link has all the meets linked to it so you can find start lists, results, etc. I promise to put Caroline pics up as soon as I get back.

A Couple Days At Home

Well, I survived my trip east. The trip home was 22hours from Boston to Lansing and consisted of car-bus-subway-bus-airplane-taxi-car. I could have flown to Sydney in the same amount of time. From a running perspective the trip was frustrating. My legs felt heavy and tired, and I wasn't confident at all. But I have taken some easy days and my legs feel like they have some life again so I am getting ready to head for B.C. this coming weekend for some meets in Vancouver and Victoria.

The great thing about my trip last week was getting to spend an entire week with Caroline. Watching Cinderella and Aristocats, dressing-up, doing puzzles, and taking naps. I had a great time and I think she had fun to. She's getting very good with her words and she is very creative and funny. I laughed a lot while I was around her.

On another running note, I have been chatting with Bob Wood in SLC who has been setting up a Mormon running/racing team and he just sent me the link to the article:

Anyway, I will update this post with photos, results, etc as I have time.

A month later...

Turns out I'm not much better at keeping this up to date than I am with calling people. The month of May has flown by as they all seem to do. Last weekend I was L.A. for a meet. I rabbited for 1150m and was happy with it.

I also got to hang out with Scott and Katie for an afternoon/evening which was a good time. Next weekend I am off to the 'Big Apple' for a meet on the 31st. The TV times are on this link: http://www.usatf.org/events/2008/VisaChampionshipSeries/schedule.asp
The meet homepage is here:

It is going to be a night race so conditions should be ideal. I'm trying to run 3:36.59 or better. After the meet I am heading down to Boston for the week to see my little girl. She is nearly two and a half years old now and talking like crazy. I can't wait to see her and I will post pics on my Picassa site after I get back.

Otherwise I am still working part time at the shoe store, Playmakers, and spending a lot of time with our running form clinic which we are working to expand to summer camps, a video, a book, and all sorts of other things.

Easy as that...

Well, I guess I have a blog now. I'm hoping to be more proactive about keeping the highlights and lowlights of my life up to date on here. I'm not very good at keeping in contact with people so maybe this can be an alternative. I will try to post weekly...key word being 'try'.
